 Dear Students,

At the outset, I on behalf of the ICSI family and my own extend our best wishes for the festival

of colors, hoping that each one of you shall while having relished in the exuberance, dive

deeper to understand the true meaning of the festival and imbibe in your own selves the

best of qualities.

Friends, the CSEET being the very first step of the professional journey, comes into our life

at a time when we are fresh out of school and still equal bits sure and unsure of the path

that lies ahead or the one we want to pursue.

The Company Secretaryship Curse might not be your first choice – you might have picked

it on the suggestion of an elderly or your decision might have been

attached to that of your friends. Nonetheless, one thing that I firmly believe is that if you

put in the right amount of effort and hold the right approach, the Course and the

profession holds to key to rewarding you in ways more than one. Not only does the Course

provide you to have opportunities for gainful employment or for those who are a bit more

lone-wolves to have their own practice; it also gives each one of us the to play howsoever big

or minor role in the growth story of the nation.

While it all sounds too larger than life, it is equally true that Company Secretaries have

played key roles in shaping many policies and legislations, steering the direction of

global governance discussions, and garnering much appreciation for that. Source

But just as Rome was not built in a day, the journey of becoming a professional and staying

a true professional is a lifelong commitment. I hope the times ahead find you pushing

your limits and gaining knowledge and wisdom in equal measures and with equivalent zeal.
