For students studying the 2017 new syllabus of the CS Executive and CS Professional programs, ICSI has instituted a pre-exam test. Before taking the main exam, CS students must pass a qualifying test to determine their level of preparation.
Before taking their exams, it is a requirement that all CS Executive/Professional students pass this initial phase.
We will discuss the CS pre-exam test, eligibility requirements, exam format, exemptions, registration, and other details in this post.
Point 1: The format, syllabus, and duration of the CS pre-exam test
An online test with multiple-choice questions makes up the CS pre-exam. It can be used from any location, including your house or a cybercafé. To take the test, all you have to do is log in and register on elearning.icsi.edu. Later, we will go into greater detail regarding the registration process.
The CS pre-exam test for the CS executive level consists of 8 papers, each of which corresponds to a different paper in the main CS Executive course.
In other words, the syllabus for each paper of the CS Executive level pre-exam test will cover the same material as the syllabus for each corresponding paper of the main CS Executive exam (New Syllabus 2017).
In a similar vein, the CS pre-exam test for the CS Professional level consists of nine papers that match the course's nine papers.
The CS pre-exam test has two papers, each of which lasts for 60 minutes. Each paper consists of 50 questions worth a total of 100 points. Each erroneous response carries a 25% penalty in terms of marking.
The questions are roughly divided into three difficulty categories: easy, medium, and hard. There will be 30% easy questions, 40% medium questions, and 30% hard questions. To pass the CS pre-exam, you must receive a minimum score of 40% on each paper.
The enrollment procedure for the primary CS examination level (CS Executive/CS Professional) will be connected to the results.
Once you've finished the exam, you'll get the results right away. You can retake the test if you don't get the required 40 percent. The test is available for as many attempts as you desire.
However, you are only permitted to take the test once every 24 hours. That is, you have to wait 24 hours before trying again if your first effort is unsuccessful.
You should be aware that the number of attempts and the grades received will NOT be used as the foundation for determining the outcome of the main CS Exam.
Also, keep in mind that not everyone is required to take the test or is eligible to do so. Before registering for the test, you must meet several qualifying requirements. Let's find out what they are.
Point 2. Requirements for CS pre-exam Test Eligibility
If you're a Company Secretary student and:
1. You registered for the CS Executive/Professional program on or after March 1st, 2018 (New Syllabus 2017); or

To take your exams, you must first take and pass the CS pre-exam test. You should be aware that you only need to pass the CS pre-exam test for the module(s) in question if you intend to take one or more of the modules for the CS Executive/CS Professional tests.
For instance, if you intend to take the December exam for the Module 1 CS Executive exams, all you need to do is pass the CS pre-exam test for module 1 at least.
For each of the CS pre-exam test papers, you can request an exemption. Additionally, you are exempt from taking the CS pre-exam test again if you previously took and passed the CS pre-exam test for that level but failed the main exam.
Point 3: Waivers of the CS pre-exam test appearance requirements

Additionally, you don't have to pass the CS pre-exam test on each subsequent attempt if you previously took the CS pre-exam test for one level but failed the main CS exam.
In other words, the results of the CS pre-exam test will be recognized for all upcoming exam dates for the relevant courses.
Point 4. The CS Pre-exam Test Fee Schedule and Registration Process
A one-time charge of Rs. 1,000 was already paid when you registered for your CS level. If you fail the test and wish to retake it, you don't have to pay the fees again.
