New CSEET Restructured From June 2026 – Complete Simplified Guide (Easy to Understand)

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has officially restructured the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test). These new changes will be applicable from the June 2026 session.

🔵 Why Did ICSI Restructure CSEET?

ICSI aims to improve the quality of future Company Secretaries. The new CSEET focuses on:

  • Updated syllabus as per the latest corporate and regulatory developments

  • Stronger focus on communication, analytical skills, and professional aptitude

  • Better exam experience

  • Strong foundation for CS Executive & Professional programmes


📅 Effective Date

  • First exam of NEW CSEET: June 2026

  • Last session of old CSEET: January 2026

Students who pass the January 2026 CSEET can register in CS Executive within 1 year (without the exemption fee).


📌 Eligibility for CSEET Registration

You can apply for CSEET if:

  • You are an Indian national, and

  • You have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) exam


🎓 Who Is Exempted from CSEET? (Direct Entry to CS Executive)

You do NOT need to give CSEET if:

  1. You have passed the ICSI Foundation Programme

  2. You have completed:

    • CA Final, OR

    • CMA Final

  3. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (any stream)

Final-year graduation students can also directly register for CS Executive.

19. Are diploma students eligible?

Only those considered equivalent to 10+2 by the authorities.
