 Finance Minister Nirmala Sidharaman proposed the construction of a digital university to enable Indian students with access to world-class education while presenting the Union Budget 2022. 

                     

  • This year's budget also included an emphasis on digital learning, noting the impact of protracted school closures on students' academic performance.
  • The minister also stated that the digital university will provide courses in all regional languages, forming a "hub and spoke" network. 
  • The institution will collaborate with the country's other core universities to offer the necessary technology economy and training.
  • Aside from that, new e-learning material delivery systems for students in rural and semi-urban regions will be launched via the internet, television, and cellphones. When introducing the scheme, the minister focused on "1 class 1 TV channel."


The finance minister further proposed the extension of SWAYAM PRABHA TV from 12 to 200 channels under the PM e-vidya plan, which would be available in all regional languages. To empower the country's young, new skill development courses will be established at state ITIs.

Furthermore, the government has agreed to enable international institutions to set up shop in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT city), which would offer courses in financial management, fin-tech, and mathematics, among other subjects.

These Are The Major Announcements In The Education Sector In The Union Budget 2022-23:

1. World-class colleges will be able to provide financial services and technology courses that are not subject to Indian rules.

2. The AICTE will lead the way in upgrading urban planning education.

3. Five academic institutions in the field of urban planning will be designated as centers of excellence. Each university would receive a Rs 250 crore endowment.

4. A online institution will be built to give students from all around the country world-class universal education and a tailored learning experience right at their fingertips. This will be offered in a variety of Indian languages as well as ICT forms. A network hub and spoke approach will be used to construct the institution.

5. Thermodynamic efficiency will be produced for dissemination via the internet, mobile phones, television, radio, and digital teachers in all spoken languages. Teachers will be empowered and equipped with digital teaching tools to support higher learning outcomes through a competitive system for the provision of high-quality e-content.
